THIS IS REVIEW FOR AN AMERICANIZED MEXICAN RESTAURANT. So I love authentic waaaaaaaaay more but for what it is, it is good. Good salsa selection. The classics on the menu with some added new dishes. The prices are a bit high but not horrible. Better then El Charro. Also we had a very friendly waiter. If your in the area give it a try.

You think $1 or $2 taco's are going to be bad because they are cheap but does Rojo Mexican Bistro really prove you wrong! We got their email marketing promotion and thought way not try out the $1 taco's. Let me tell me, we will definitely be back promotion or not. Everytime the waiters kept coming back and forth delivery food to all the tables my mouth was watering it all looked delicious. The chips are hot and the salsa is really good too. I hate when you get cold greasy chips it's the worst.I liked the chicken taco better than the beef but it was still good. Go Rojo Mexican Bistro Sterling Heights!

Terrible food and service. The quesadilla tasted like it was made with velveeta and the margarita tasted watered down. I do not recommend.

Afwul service. The guy server tried keeping our $20.00 change as a tip and said ohh I forgot. Food was salty. We came once before and waited a half hour only to find out they had two waiting list. So we left and came back months later. Not worth a dime.

My family came out here last night for my birthday, and I have to say everything was great! The atmosphere is 2nd to none. The restaurant is smaller than the older one at Partridge Creek Mall, but it makes for a more cozier experience. We had a group of ten with us and we weren't lacking in space at all. A few of us decided to go with the servers recommendations and the food was phenomenal! He told me if I loved Steak I should try their Steak House and grilled veggies and it was top notch. My daughters Loved their chicken and steak fajitas, and the margaritas were perfect! The Server was always smiling as were the other people who helped bring out our food, that isn't always the case when you go out to eat. We will be definitely be back soon for Taco Tuesday and Fajita Wednesday!

Place is good food is on point with the other locations. Service was prompt, prices are comparable to any other mexican place that does not have a drive through and also have daily specials.

ANAZING service. The waiter we had was on top of it. Made sure we got more chips as soon as we ran out, made sure we had everything we could want or need, and just generally nice. Honestly prob some of the best service, I really can't even think how the service could have been better. The food was also very good. The chicken tacos there are my favorite of all time, and the price is good, especially on taco Tuesday. 10 out of 10 must recommend!

We went to rojo for the first time last week for my husbands birthday. We were so pleased with the service and food. Our waiter, Zach, was attentive, helpful and all around awesome! We had two people that can't eat gluten and they had plenty of food to choose from that was gluten free. The place was very clean and the food was delicious. We will definitely be going back and making rojo a regular dinner spot!

Tried out the new Rojo at Lakeside mall after missing the one at Partridge Creek dearly!! I wish I came for the amazing taco Tuesday deal, but that will have to be another time! Can't go wrong with a few of their dishes..fish tacos tend to be my go to. Inside resembles the one at partridge although much smaller! Food was good, service was great. Server was very friendly, wish I remembered her name, short with a nose ring! Overall, I will definitely be back, just next time on a Tuesday:)

This place has great food, and exceptional service! The Mahi Mahi tacos are really good and the complimentary chips and salsa are way better than most Mexican restaurants. They could use a few more draft beer selections, but overall a great meal

I'll start with the good. Food was great. $5 jumbo margaritas on Thursday. The ok was it was Very loud in there. The poor, we waited 5 minutes for the hostess. The bartender, a waitress, & A busboy all saw us standing there and didn't even smile or say a word to us. They could at least have told us that someone would help us in a moment. Would try it again.

My family and I dined here on Wednesday for the $9.99 fajita dinner special. I've never been here, even when it was at Partridge Creek. I've heard mixed things about it so I really didn't know what to expect. The hostess say my family of five in a round table meant for four people but squeezed five of us in. Waitress was quick and efficient. Needless to say we had chips and salsa coming out our ears. The chips and salsa had flavor and wasn't stale. I ordered the Rojo Two Story- which is equivalent to a gordita crunch from Taco Bell except a million times better! Two decent size tacos served with rice and beans. Our table really didn't have enough room for all our food and we were elbow to elbow. Some of the items seemed a little high in price but I was really happy with my $8.99 meal. I'll be back!

Thoroughly disappointed. Came here for taco Tuesday and the food wasn't that great, service was very slow and the kitchen mixed up our orders a few times. Definitely won't be back.

Truly not good. Everything is so bland! The only thing I like on their menu? The burger. Sad considering that I love Mexican. I've tried it numerous times. No bueno.

We decided to check out the new location at Lakeside. We had enjoyed the happy hours at the Partridge Creek location before they closed. It was strange that we were rushed, and the restaurant was empty. I was meeting a friend for happy hour and dinner, but I was 5 minutes late, happy hour was over. Since I wasn't there, my friend ordered 2 drinks before 6, and the waitress resisted since she was sitting alone at the time. Is happy hour limited? She did eventually drink the Margarita. The drink was so full of salt that I couldn't drink it. It was replaced. Food was good. Location nothing like the former Partridge Creek location. That was a beautiful restaurant, very large, comfortable and modern furnishings. The new place is nothing special, just your typical mall restaurant. Happy Hour use to be an occasion, at this location, there were only 5 people in the whole place.

It's obvious they are cutting corners with expenses. I ordered steak fajitas. The steak was not even seasoned or cut properly. Cooked okay but I was kind of afraid to eat it because it tasted just wrong. My husband ordered the chicken fajitas. They were also unseasoned but he said they tasted less questionable. Maybe they were having an off day with the meat? I originally ordered my usual of the mushroom quesadilla but was informed by the waitress that it was only portobello mushrooms in it now. It used to include a variety of yummy mushrooms. We ordered tableside guacamole. It was tasty. Except that we basically paid for an employee to crush up avocados in front of us. He didn't mix any other ingredients in it that we noticed past some onion. The tomatoes and cilantro we're just scooped on top. However, the complimentary salsa is of the same good quality. But the habanero pepper sauce add in was white instead of orange. Um? The wait staff was kind of rude. The waitress kept trying to get my 1 year olds attention by clapping in his face. However, she was attentive to our needs as diners.

The food and service was phenomenal. However, the "jumbo" margaritas were definitely on the cheap end. Couldn't taste any tequila at all, and they were blended very poorly, to the point thAt my mom and I got all the "juice" out before our glasses were half empty... I know we were there on a "specials" day for said margaritas but I would have rather paid full price for a full quality margarita. The food was great though, and our waitress was super friendly and seemed so excited about her job. Loved it. Wish I remembered her name.

Zach was an awesome server...brought out everything quickly, checked on on us often, was very polite. We had a party of 7 along with a 2 year old, a 14 month old & a baby. I would definitely come back with him as our server. He made the experience great.

I went here for taco Tuesday! Good $1 tacos and awesome margaritas. Even though they didn't have that many drink specials besides $2 tequila shots they have many deals throughout the week! Service was friendly, a little slow but nothing too bad!

The food was OK, a little over-priced but it wasn't bad. You couldn't tell the difference between a Chimichanga and a burrito. The chips and salsa were very tastey. The waitress was terrible! I almost got up and walked out. The female server had a serious attitude problem. I almost walked out because I thought I came here to eat and relax and not have some punk girl give me lip. My mom and I are very nice people, we have no reason to find fault with anyone but this girl was rude. Mom ordered a coke and it came in a bottle...which is fine but mom is old school and wanted a glass and ice to go with it and she asked the lady if she could have a glass and ice and she questioned mom as to why she wanted it! We waited a long time for our drinks, which is no real big deal but we noticed everyone had chips and salsa on their table so after she delivered the drinks we still didn't get chips and salsa. When she came back to take the order as she was leaving the table (in a hurry) I asked her if chips and salsa came prior to the meal and she actually said with an attitude, "Give me a minute!" as in, Relax already will you...can't you see I'm busy here. She gave me a look and quickly turned her back on me. I couldn't believe it. These are just a few examples. When she looked at me in a snotty way and said that, I seriously wanted to just get up and walk out and leave my wine on the table. I think I would have but didn't want to upset my mom. I loved the atmosphere. It was very cozy and decorated to make you feel welcomed and relaxed. I'll probably be back but hope I don't get grizzly girl again.

I've been here a few times since they opened and I have nothing but great things to say! The staff is always welcoming and attentive. One of my favorite things is the table side guacamole, they make it in front of you, so you can choose what you like to add. The chicken & avocado empanadas are also another great appetizer. Beer is cold and the margaritas are good! The bar area is great to watch a game or take a shopping break.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
